I am so happy for them, but I won't lie, I'm a bit jealous as well. Many of my friends are on their second baby and I'm feeling a little left in the dust. Part of me is selfish and worried that I'll be left out since I don't have kids for play dates, and many of my friends can't go and hang out like they used to since they have to find someone to watch their kids.<br /><br />Some days I'm ok with this, some days I'm not. I feel kinda like an indoor cat in a new house...I have to feel my way around this disease and find a way to make myself comfortable in my new environment. For two cycles we thought I was pregnant (even had a false positive pregnancy test) and couldn't figure out what was going on. My wonderful OB/GYN ordered blood tests and it was discovered that PCOS was to blame for everything.<br /><br />My cycles are nowhere near normal or timely, I have terrible acne, I'm gaining weight and having a very hard time losing it, and my hormones are all out of whack. More than anything I want to be a mom. All I've ever wanted was to be a stay at home mom. PCOS is making this extremely difficult. In a few weeks I'll begin my first round of fertility meds (clomid), and we'll see how that goes.<br /><br />Until I was diagnosed, I never knew about PCOS. This is my attempt to make more people aware of this disease, and to offer love and support to those amazing women out there dealing with this as well. While some days I'm very accepting of my diagnosis, somedays I'm angry, hurt, and disappointed. I have ugly days, fat days, and pretty days. I'm here to share my story and to let others know they aren't alone.<br /><br />I am in no way a medical doctor. I'm just sharing what I'm going through and what works and doesn't work for me.
